Pallister Government Failing to Stand up For Working Manitobans

The Pallister government has abandoned working families and individuals by refusing to protect their right to be paid a living wage and by undermining long-standing practices that create fairness in the workplace, Interim NDP Leader Flor Marcelino said today.

“This government is showing a disregard for workers who face rising costs for food and to put a roof over their heads,” Marcelino said. “Brian Pallister keeps saying he has a plan to make Manitoba the most improved province but he’s actually making it worse for working individuals and families.”

Pallister Government Undercutting Manitoba’s Affordability Advantage

Manitoba families are in danger of losing their affordability advantage under a Pallister government that has no plan to grow the economy and sits on its hands while costs threaten to rise, NDP Interim Leader Flor Marcelino said today.

“Instead of putting forward real plans to invest in the economy, create jobs and maintain one of the lowest costs of living in the country, the Pallister government is content to conduct endless reviews,” Marcelino said. “We urge the premier to stop ducking his responsibility and instead work on behalf of Manitoba families.”

Raise the minimum wage!

On October 1st, Manitoba's minimum wage was frozen. Pallister's Conservatives have refused to raise it and are siding with big business and corporations over low-income families.

This is the wrong direction for Manitoba.
