Forums in Gimli and Brandon Highlight Exciting Week for Leadership 2017

The Manitoba NDP leadership race featured two exciting debates in Brandon and Gimli this week as Steve Ashton and Wab Kinew passionately shared their visions for the party and Manitoba, President David Woodbury said today.

"Ashton and Kinew both have strong views and exciting ideas about how to move our party forward and address key issues throughout our province," said Woodbury. "All members and those interested are encouraged to watch these debates online, or attend another Forum if they're able in the coming days."

The Leadership 2017 Forums started in Brandon on Tuesday (July 18), followed by Gimli on Thursday (July 20). Both events featured questions from Manitobans across the province which are being submitted online at todaysndp.ca/leadership-question. All Leadership 2017 Forums are free and open to the public.

The next two Leadership Forums will take place on Thompson (July 24) and Winnipeg (July 26). Event details and other official Leadership 2017 updates are posted on the party's website at todaysndp.ca/leadership-2017. The Forums are broadcast live through the party's Facebook page, and posted in full the following day at todaysndp.ca/leadership-forums and youtube.com/ndpmanitoba.

"The Leadership 2017 Forums are providing members and all those interested to better get to know the candidates and what they stand for. Robust debate about policies, ideas and principles represents who we are as New Democrats, and is key to our renewal as a political party," added Woodbury.
