Premier Pallister must stop wasting time and start working immediately with the federal government, the City of Churchill and surrounding communities to take over the rail line to Churchill and repair it before winter makes construction impossible, NDP Labour Critic Tom Lindsey said today.
Pallister Government Continues to Undermine Health Care, Break its Election Promise by Closing Four Winnipeg QuickCare Clinics
The Pallister government is closing four more QuickCare clinics in Winnipeg, reducing staff-to-patient ratios and hiking fees for long-term care patients, which will further undermine health care for families, NDP Health Critic Matt Wiebe said today.
The Pallister Government needs to guarantee supports for children with special needs, not cut them, NDP Families Critic Nahanni Fontaine said today. The Pallister government recently paused funding to the Child Care Inclusion Support Program during a review, only to restore it after significant pressure from parents and families.
The Pallister Government is hiding their secret reports from the public, using false excuses to mask their plans for cuts and privatization, revealed NDP Finance Critic James Allum and Health Critic Matt Wiebe today.
“Brian Pallister promised every Manitoban that he would release 97% of the KPMG fiscal performance review, but broke his word and claimed that he couldn’t because the report belonged to the consultant. After misleading the public for months, we now know the premier’s claims are a complete fabrication,” said Allum.
The Pallister Government is ignoring its commitment to the most vulnerable Manitobans by not providing support to new applicants through the Child Care Inclusion Support Program, said NDP Families Critic Nahanni Fontaine.
“The Minister is obstructing families’ access to critical supports and forcing parents of children with special needs to make hard decisions,” Fontaine said. “The Pallister government is failing parents and children who need our support the most.”
