Interim Leader Flor Marcelino and President David Woodbury thank New Democrats and over 550 delegates from across the province for a successful Convention 2017.

Delegates gathered in Winnipeg this weekend to consider 150 policy resolutions on the issues that matter most to Manitobans, including jobs & the economy, health care, education, and environmental protections, as well as amendments to the party constitution.

Manitoba NDP strikes special committee

“We are united in our resolve to move forward and develop a clear process for incorporating a leadership component into our annual general convention,” said Ellen Olfert, President of the Manitoba NDP. “This committee has a mandate from the Provincial Executive to provide recommendations and lay out the parameters of a potential leadership election as per our constitution.”

The special committee will be chaired by Olfert, and will include:

  • George Alevizos, Treasurer, Manitoba NDP Provincial Executive
  • Sonia Kowalewich, Former Provincial Secretary, Manitoba NDP
